How can you be destroyed financially? If you could afford to pay for your care or you could afford private insurance why did you not have it? You cannot expect the bill collectors to cut you any slack when you are a dead beat expecting something for nothing. Set up a payment plan with the hospital or the collection agency. It must be a substantial payment based on what you can afford, as it should be. Don't forget to see the financial counselor at the hospital to take advantage of all assistance available. If you have a low income you can have medicaid and keep your residence and a five year old car. What is the problem? You take care of yourself if you can and we all take care of you if you cannot. I do not think we should take care of you if you can take care of yourself. Do you?
