Germany and Australia have maintained their progressive income tax rate and still have the prosperous Middle Class Americans long for.

Trump could help bring back a more progressive income tax system as we had prior to 1980, but he won't. Trump wants to dig the hole deeper with additional tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and Foreigners.

So I already know in advance that the Middle Class will continue to lose their place in America. Koan says Plato suggested it's because I'm standing outside the cave in the sunlight where I can see well. Sdgla says I know these things because I'm an elitist prick, an assertion I suspect my Dads agree withs, but either explanation works for me - I know what the outcome will be.

My Dad is proud of me, and like my little brother a little envious, as he's 86 and still goes to work with my little brother every day. It took him a long time to accept the fact I stopped working for pay, or growing my own for-profit business when I was 43. It's made me very happy.

Will Trump's fast-food Labor Secretary, who wants to eliminate the Minimum Wage and eliminate employee's lunch breaks, create additional bad paying jobs? Very possibly, so more Working Americans will qualify for Food Stamps, Medicaid, and subsidized housing. How is that a change with a difference?

For me personally I might get an income tax cut, and Trump would no doubt like to create a George W. Bush sized bubble which I can easily negotiate to become wealthier might wipe out my little brother and my parents but it is what it is.

Do I benefit from Trump while others suffer because I'm an elitist prick or because I'm intelligent and decided to step out of the cave? Once again I'm OK with any of these explanations. Sorry about the others, but many of them did vote for Trump and they richly deserve what they're going to get - the others, well that's a human tragedy.

Can Trump make some improvement around the edges, like over-riding the Republican Congress and insisting the US government buy drugs with competitive bidding like every other country in the world does. I sure hope so, but it's going to be tough - how does he move Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan isn't ready to roll-over for him either. Tweets have no affect on these guys.

Will Trump cause chaos and business uncertainty? Absolutely. Maybe some good things come out of that along with the bad. I'm not opposed to shaking things up periodically, just so long as I can figure out a way to benefit.

Rick Perry told Senators when he wanted to eliminate the Energy Department, he though it was "a global ambassador for the American oil and gas industry..." but he now he knows he'll be in charge of "the United States' nuclear arsenal".

Trump's transition team said about Rick Perry, "It's been a learning curve," which is probably expected given Rick Perry graduated from college with a degree in Animal Husbandry.

As Trump said "I'm going to choose all of the smartest people in the country, people you haven't even heard of." I wonder if Rick Perry is studying up on 'reactor breeding' ?

Barack Obama's outgoing head of the Energy Department, Ernest Moniz, is a Nuclear Physicist.
