Bear markets tend to slide into the daily close. Bull markets do the opposite, they tend to ramp up into the close. Not a hard and fast rule for every day trading but if you look at the history, it's a generality that holds true more times than not.

No one should be surprised that on options expiration day, we've had another strong market early in the day. Momentum continues to favor the bull case even though we've been sideways for a month. Until we see some serious negative momentum downward, it's hard to be bearish, IMO....
