The big difference for me is Our PM essentially calls the shots with a majority (usual scenario) ... even to the point of expelling dissenting members from the party .. Although dialectics on our system describe the PM as answering to parliament... He has to go waaaaaay off script to worry about that... Your POTUS has more power through executive orders.. but is essentially at the mercy of Congress otherwise.. Neither party in Congress doesn't vote as a block always.. In our parliament that is not the case typically unless a 'free vote' is called... which will not happen on major policy issues... so in a sense our PM has more governmental power... although we have a gazillion rubber stampers...
