<<A trade war will be excellent for China! >> It would not be good for China. It would be bad. Conflicts in general do not add value.

But it's not a "trade war" if a country raises revenue at the border. A country is defined by its border and the cost of protecting that border and country should be raised at the border. So, for example, Big D is right to have Mexico pay for the border wall by charging import tariffs on things coming from Mexico. Another way of paying for it would be to take invaders hostage and forcing them into slave labour unless a ransom is paid by Mexico. Criminal invaders could be sold at auction for body parts - a complete tissue compatible specimen should be worth $2 million. Some people might think that a harsh approach. Big D couldn't depend on it for revenue because within months if not days there would be no more invaders so revenue would fall to zero. But product tariffs would provide some continued revenue if they were not too high.
