Your point founders on a lot of rocks before it even get started. The iPhone is a terrible example of something to reshore. For one, it is an extremely complicated device with literally hundreds of suppliers, few of which are in the US. I suppose you could do like Motorola did with one of their phones that was highly customizable. They had completed modules shipped to the US and they were dropped into the appropriate case and packaged. But the volume was no where near what is needed for the iPhone. Nor would they be doing it by hand, that could be completely automated. So some fraction of the supply chain would have to be created.

That costs.

Your comments wave the magic wand of tax credits. Which, in essence would mean the tax payer would have to subsidize Apple to the tune of billions of dollars a year to create a very small number of low paying jobs. Other than to feed Trump's ego, what exactly is the point?
