It a crazy idea Steve to think that education is elitism. Don't we all want our kids to go to school? Why do we do that if it's elitism? And I think most people hope their children will go on to college because they know the more education a person gets the easier their life will be, the more money they will make and the longer they will live.

Take 10,000 people randomly without a high school education and then compare them to 10,000 kids who graduated from UC Berkeley and test them on all things involving thinking. How do you think the two groups will compare?

That is the simple power of education!

There is no substitute for education. This anti-intellectual BS that the right wing has been pushing forever has got to stop. The Asians are passing us like crazy because they understand the power of education.

The Jews figured out education a 1000 years ago when they went from the fields to the education and is why they have done so well even though the entire world has been against them the entire time. During the second world war we destroy Japan including firebombing them and they live on a rock and have no resources and their language is practically impossible to understand and learn, even for them.

Nevertheless, through hard work and education 30 years after the second world war they were the second largest economy in the world. Germany was third. All because of education. We've seen South Korea and Taiwan do exactly the same thing. South Korea is now the 15th largest economy in the world, just 70 years after they got freedom from being slaves of Japan.

The mind is something that has to be developed. And it takes a long time and the more education a person gets for themselves. The more books they read by smart people, the smarter they will get and the more logical they will get.

And most of them if they keep at it at some point will turn into liberals no matter how conservative they began :)>.-

<<<<<That is common among uneducated people. Thinking logically takes lots of practice.>>>>

Gawd I hate the elitism. ..........There is no lack of education across the country and yet democrats continue to lose more and more seats at the State and local level. It is this smug elitism that is ruining the democratic party.
