Thought MA was Red Sox country
It is even more Dem country. After retiring he got RI to give him a bunch of money to start a video game company. Quickly went bankrupt and also lost most of his own money. Months of bad publicity with the layoffs and then closing. He came here at the end of his career, never really established a hard-core fan base.
He was more of a short term rental than a core Red Sox hero.
