Lucius,
It's interesting to compare downloading both the cable and telephone
modems at the same time. The speed differences are dramatic. Intel's investment in @home should come in handy down the road.

Lucius,

Your comments are appreciated. After receiving many emails & several posts, checking out in detail different web sites, talking directly to users and cable company, I am convinced that cable is the way to go for me. Some of the advantages are articulated in the following urls:

I have signed up for the service. They will call me for installation when it is available. I have decided to also keep my pots Internet Service Provider. The two internet accounts (Cable Modem and Regular Modem) will fit my purposes nicely. I like having a backup internet service account. (Way to go today INTC)

Live Long and Prosper,
