I stopped buying Seagate drives over 5 years ago, but am happy that they have apparently addressed their quality control.

If Seagate continues to keep their failure rates down, I may reconsider them in the future.

Seagate does seem to have a different corporate attitude than Western Digital though.

Some examples of this are how Seagate killed the Maxtor brand after they bought the company and how Seagate DiscWizard makes no mention of Acronis who is the developer of the software.

Western Digital on the hand after buying Hitachi and SanDisk have kept these brands alive and WD's backup software is appropriately named Acronis True Image WD Edition.
