I heard that IBM placed an extremely large order on socket 7 system with Acer. However, I have no idea about its volume at all.

Thanks for the link to Acer's news. It is quite interesting to find that Acer is going to use 386SX (from C&T or Cyrix or AMD?) for their $199 XC.

This is the least of my worries ... The Dresden Fab won't be on line
for at least another year. AMD can't even transfer a process from
Sunnyvale to Austin ... how will they bring up a Fab in Germany on the
.25um process??

It's good Nus that Motorola and Siemens are also building a Fab in
Dresden ... maybe they can take over the AMD Fab when AMD runs out
of money and needs to sell!!
