Very interesting article on the pointed discussions the Republicans are having upon realization of the magnitude of the problems they are going to have to address in repealing the ACA.

It would be a GIANT step forward in leveling the playing field... Do you want the best and brightest in charge or just the best and brightest that happened to be born into the right circumstances... Current situation means lots that do not have the right stuff other than privilege get the leg up...

Single payer is a start.... a good start...

The insurance companies need to get out of the healthcare business as they have little interest in the health of the individual. They are in it to profit. That's all they care about. My first wife's medication bill was easily over 4k a month since she had MAI disease, rheumatoid arthritis and was taking procrit, a very expensive drug for iron deficiency. She was fortunately covered through a different health provider each year, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oxford, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, etc. The worst was Blue Cross/Blue Shield. They would make her Pulmonologist send X-rays to get confirmation of a 3 month supply of certain drugs and it was extremely difficult to reach them by phone. The physicians were delegating this responsibility to the clerk's who they were hiring for minimum wage from the ghetto who couldn't care less. So, we had to travel from Physician to physician hoping the staff of the physician was competent. The healthcare companies make life miserable for you if you are sick and using a lot of medication. I don't need to tell you that my wife would be screaming on the top of her lungs telling the insurance companies that they would prefer that she drop dead so they can profit more. It is such a sick inhumane system I hope none of you get really sick and need your expensive medication to live. And in NYS they don't give prescriptions out to the patient anymore because they want to prevent you from initially ordering it online through a cheaper source. You just wouldn't believe the aggravation we had with the insurance companies who are only in this to profit and make it difficult for you to get the medication you need to survive and the cheap physicians who hire the bottom of the barrel ghetto people for minimum wage who don't want to be bothered dealing with the insurance companies for the authorization necessary to get the drugs you need to survive. It was a nightmare of the highest magnitude. Drop dead so we can profit more at your expense. That's the message. This country is in a way a piece of capitalistic chit.
