A school's primary purpose is teaching people how to learn on their own and assess what they need to know, otherwise they're teaching lunkheads who will quickly become obsolete and unemployable.

And how many students from our current seriously broken US "educational" system have been taught how to use a dictionary instead of guessing about the meanings of new words or just giving up, even a simple online one...

sure, learning to learn is not a new and improved idea.
it's been in pedagogic circles since the seventies at least.
and mostly u.s. outlawed since 2004.

but the ieee article indicates recent grads are not able to
find work in stem. thus, the myth of needing hb1s for lack
of qualified u.s. folks.

when i talk with folks, i often hear that performance objectives
are designed to remove employees, rather than retain employees.
this increases managerial profits. some say immigrant workers
are neo-slaves. talk too loud and you're fired! all the way across
the border.
