Stunning New Poll Numbers Judge Trump’s First Week As President

A poll released just this morning by Quinnipiac University reveals bad news for President Trump.

The nation-wide poll, taken January 20-25, shows that Trump is now limping his way through his first 100 days with a staggeringly low approval rating of 36%. In the same poll from 2009, President Obama’s approval rating sat at 59% -a rather lofty number in comparison.

50% of Americans polled believe Donald Trump will be worse president than Barack Obama; only 37% believe he will be better. And while a great number of people thought a President Trump would help their financial situation, now only 31% believe he will help.

According to the assistant director of the Quinnipiac Univeristy Poll, Tim Malloy, things grow dimmer for Trump and brighter for Obama with every poll. “Stumbling out of the blocks, President Donald Trump is considered a divider not a uniter, flunking on honesty, empathy and level headedness, while his predecessor sees his legacy burnished by better and better numbers every polling cycle. But voters are optimistic in general and confident he will help the economy.”

On an interesting side note, the poll also asked voters to select the best president of the last 70 years. Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama easily swept numbers one and two with 30% and 29%.

This poll suveyed 1,190 voters from across the nation, and has a margin of error +/- 2.8%. You can read the poll in its entirety here: January 27 Quinnipiac University Poll
