Amit-

The volume increase is most likely a reflection of the low stock price. A purchase of $1000 of shares several months ago (a share price nearly double that of today) would have purchased about 170 shares. The same $1000 purchase today would give about 440 shares.

For the total SHARE volume the argument is similar, but the TOTAL dollar value of those transactions has probably not changed significantly.
