When I was PTA president of my boy's elementary school, and as a fund raising event, I hired one of the mother's that had experience in directing to put together a cast to perform the play "Lil Abner." As you're aware, we live in the Seattle area, so I was amazed that the principle of that school actually allowed me to do that. Despite the fact that 1/2 the cast came down with chicken pox the night before the play, we had enough extras to pull it off and it was great.
