Alexa, I and the rest of the SF Bay Area SI bunch hope you change your mind and come. Smoking at Captain Blyther's? Not anymore! Remember? The new law? Captain Blyther's entire upstairs is a large, well-ventilated bar with a fantastic view, where it served full meals in the bar for its smoking patrons. Downstairs is the restaurant proper and no smoking was permitted there. The two areas are, as you can see, well separated. Captain Blyther's may have been the last place where one could dine and/or smoke in coexisting peace and happiness in Northern California. I just read Tommaso's post re the battery powered smokeless ashtray. Not to worry! Forget the smoke. The noise would drive me away! Fast! <vbg> Holly
