There is no question, whatsoever, that it is both defensible AND lawful. The president has very wide latitude on this subject and there is no way in hell the Supreme Court wouldn't uphold it. The country has a long established history of these kinds of actions, and yes, presidents catch hell about it.

But realistically, it is a 90-day period for an incoming president to review the efficacy of the existing policy for protecting the American people. Only the leftwing nutjobs are not going to support it.

Even Turley, who is a fairly extreme leftist, flatly came out and said, 'Yes, he can do it, very little doubt about it.'

A couple days discomfort isn't going to hurt anyone. It could have been handled better, but I'm sure they'll get better at execution.
