I think it is great to see Trump doing what he committed to do. It appears to me to be a highly competent action that totally makes sense. We do need to stop the drip-drip-drip of terrorism that Obama has tolerated, and this is as good a starting point as any. It is absurd, done just for show. There are plenty of places where people who want to commit terrorist acts in the US can come from that aren't on this list. This action won't keep anyone who wants to do this out of the country. It will only make it more difficult for people with legitimate reasons for wanting to be here to come. And it will serve as yet another propaganda tool for extremist Muslims who hate the US without doing anything real about dealing with terrorism. It will act as confirmation bias for anyone who already suspects that the US government hates Muslims. Far from being "a highly competent action that totally makes sense", this is an idiotic action that makes no sense at all. It won't keep any would be terrorist from getting to this country while making it more likely that some people will want to inflict damage on the US. And will make it harder to do business for no good reason.
