>>>I understand that but what constitutes trust? <<<

For me it is the level of confidence I have that I can count on someone to be true to their word. I've even known people who I trust to do things I don't like because they make it clear that is what they are about.

>>>I trusted that she knew her way around well enough to not do anything really stupid and was sensitive enough to her reputation to respond constructively to feedback.<<<

I don't disagree with that.

>>>What form of trust do you have in mind.<<<

I give people lots of leeway. If you say you are going to do something, I consider that a goal statement. If you try but don't achieve it, or some change in circumstance makes it a less viable route to pursue, I don't lose trust. It's only when you are intentionally deceiving me that I have a problem.

In particular with Hillary, it was the frequency and ease of telling the public things she knew were just blatantly false. I say blatant because she could report to us something that wasn't true then turn around and just as easily tell the truth (about the same stuff) or at least something more truthful when in a situation where she could be held accountable legally.

The way she (and bill) made her fortune while sec of state bothers me too.

>>> Please don't tell me honesty because they all spin everything and they all use plausible deniability to wriggle out of tight spots.<<<

You might be right. I hope you are not but I can't demonstratively prove otherwise. Honesty is very important to me and remember what gramma used to say, 'if everybody went and jumped over a cliff, would that make it ok for you to jump over the cliff too?'

Maybe when I think about this more, I will have more to say about it.
