Re: "we see momentum building in the product orders across all of our markets"

I can think of two explanations for this:

1) The 7000 and 6500 series are both new products and are having relatively small sales in their ramping up stage. Product orders are up but from a small base. Their other products have higher sales and CPCI simply mis-guaged their demand.

2) When CPCI used the term "accross all of our markets" they meant accross each type of customer base. In this case demand could have truly been rising, but they were simply unable to deliver the product because their customers wanted 6700 and 6900 disk drives that they didn't have in stock.

Either or both of these could be true or there could be some other explanation.

Also, the term "momentum" is a bit ambiguous. It could mean customer expressions of interest, organization of coherent sales teams/strategies, etc. If SALES were building accross all of their markets, why didn't they say so? I think its best to take this phrase as a statment of management's confidence in their business. When they back this up with a $3M repurchase program I know they're serious.
