Kor. Au'll B surrendered 2 IMF 4 'puter debits," a drop N t' bucket. Tis so sad I can't bear to watch the spin on this story.

As any rational observer should realize by now, ordinary Kor. haven't a clue about how big a billion is, let alone 68 o'them thar billions, any more than Joe and Suzy Blow-USA can fathom how big a "billion" is!

The gov't engages in stupid fiscal policy and asks the little people whose won is gone to also surrender the only thing that will help them eat when the won goes the way of the ruble...

In case "won's" memory needs jogging...
7 years ago, it took 25 Rus rubles t'make 1 lousy US greenback's exchange, even with robber baron's cut outta das mitt‚!

now it takes OVER 6,600 Ruble to get one "speeding Fiat" to purloin a phrase...

God help 'em!

How does Soros (and shark chum "Kim Wo" or whoever'is in charge over there) sleep at night?

Did you all read today's Press Release re:
Russia CB receiving their first batch of new Ruble's printed in just last few weeks???

Want t'know what's different about the "new and improved version of the ruble" and the ruble 7 years ago?

The "new and improved ruble" has 3 less zeros in the corner per fractional fiat...so instead of 6000 ruble to the dollar, it now only takes 6...

Quick studies aren't they? Can you say "reverse split Ruble?"

Good investing, Wm.

"Fear: Flood of AU from S Korea" It's Goofy when you're buying for the same reason others are selling.

Is all of this absurd, or is it just me?

1. The gold market is down because of the "flood" of AU from S Korean's being asked to sell their family trinkets (because the S Korean govt needs money, which is what gold is). What will the reaction of other Asians watching this will be?

2. Gold is holding at a support level in the low 280's, which is a support level because it rallied from that point three times previous in the last two decades. Its also an irrelevant level. $282 U.S. dollars in 1985 are very different from $282 U.S. in 1997. Godl market is being driven by psychology, not supply or demand.

3. The stock market is up, despite the daily earnings disappointments, because of low interest rates and a possible fed cut. This fed cut was foreseeable 2 months ago when everyone was wondering about a rate increase. Not enough curiousity as to WHY the inflation hawks at the fed would suddenly reverse course so dramatically?
