What is unbelievable is someone claiming a military response is "off the table" if Iran actually had nuked Israel. How does someone come to that astonishing conclusion.

What does appear to have been the case is that Obama toned down the military drumbeat while negotiating an agreement to PREVENT them from obtaining nuclear arms. That was wise. Something Trump completely fails to understand, that his mouth causes problems. But further Obama actually succeeded on his goal of reducing nuclear proliferation, while Trump, despite his mouth running off on Iran, is going to have the exact opposite effect, and assuming he lasts four years in office, there will be more countries either with nuclear weapons, or well on their way there by the time he leaves office, and Iran will likely be one of them.
