As to the subsidies, there are provisions in the ACA for businesses to use the exchanges instead of negotiating with the insurance companies directly. There is nothing preventing them from subsidizing said coverage. Now if the company is of any size, they can usually get a better deal by negotiating. So it is primarily used by individuals, contractors like myself and small companies. Not an entity that employees millions of people. So I am sure that this requirement costs the taxpayers more than otherwise.

The Republicans that forced this through don't really care what it costs for them to grandstand.
