To our resident Theologian, Shalom Hepzibah (or anyone else that knows the facts). I heard a TV evangelist tell a man that came forward to accept Christ in a meeting tell the "seeker" to "take off his earrings, that they were an abomination to God." Then he went on to say that the earrings were worn by the Moabite men and it was an indication of their rebellion, lust, etc.
Question: Was he right? Where in scripture might that come from?
Comment: I must confess, I do not like the earrings in men and have never felt it was a good thing to wear them. But after all, I am now an old man and belong to a different generation that was brought up differently.
Who can help me out in this?

J.
