"Maybe everyone should watch a little more sports to get their aggression out. :) Then maybe we can all disagree without being disagreeable. Does anyone remember who said that?"

Sports are great. Sports diffuse our human needs for communities of loyalty, and competition on level playing fields.

Like art.

Like music.

All very good with me. Even sports I do not follow.

Just not sports that cause CTE at their core.

I hate the term "political correctness" and in the thirty years or more since its inception really haven't used it (or enforced it). It tends to be a dog-whistle for people who want to be verbally abusive or intentionally insensitive. If someone starts a sentence with "I know it is not PC but", linguistically, this is a "universal disqualifier". A high school teacher taught me that "but" means that the speaker knows what they are saying will contradict the introductory clause with what follows, and in my example they know they will commit an offense and they are doing it on purpose to make a point.

It is like "Baby, you know I love you but ...". Nothing good will follow that introductory clause so you might as well just skip it. By using PC, people using it are announcing loudly that they want to be jerks and if they label others as being PC, they blame the recipient when they aren't receptive to it or being a "good sport". Why go through life being an a-hole but being too much of a coward to own it? PC in its more neutral interpretation is simple agreeing that people are different, should be able to self-identify and not be subject to prejudicial and broadly sweeping generalizations. I challenge anyone to find an example of where someone is talking about PC disparagingly but is really a kind and tolerant person at their core. If they want to tell a racist or sexist joke, it may be okay in certain audiences but they better know their audience and it is cowardly and disingenuous to start it as "I know this is not PC but". Just effin' say it - your audience will judge your intent and those who want to do this should be brave enough to take the chance and own it if it goes pear-shaped.

>>>...end the divisiveness in this country,

Shouldn't it start with Trump?... Trump wished happy New Year to folks that didn't vote for him by calling them "enemies"., and blames the media as "fake news" simply for reporting on his lies, and attacks judges simply because of a legal decision, and attacks the leaders of other countries, and bans refugees and folks with valid visas from entering the country, etc, etc, then how would you possibly expect everyone to just "all get along"?... The only person Trump hasn't attacked is dictator Putin who likes to poison his enemies. Trump and his right wing goons need to be fought on a daily basis

And thanks for stepping up to the plate to show your "outreach" to the other side

You're a dupe to not believe all the overwhelming evidence from the emails that prove her criminality. It's willful ignorance on your part. I hope Trump has her prosecuted.

this one's pretty awesome also... more "outreach"

Hillary and her snowflakes and BLM thugs are not what this country needs. They are what is wrong with this country, not what can help us fix it. The first thing we need to do is "drain the swamp" of people like Hillary, her snowflakes, and her BLM thugs, as well as the lobbyists and other corrupt politicians. Then we can start to roll back Obamacare and other socialist programs that represent government overreach and simply don't work. Us Deplorables know a lot more about how the world really works, since we are the ones who have to do most of the work in this country, while you snowflakes pontificate from the nosebleed section of your Ivory Towers.
