That is probably because you don't read. Google Leonard Pitts he just wrote a book on black chain gangs. Right after the Civil War and until the mid-1930s the police in the South would arrest Blacks for doing nothing. Then they would sell them to plantation owners who tortured them and worked them to death. Few of them ever survived. Is a horrible horrible horrible story. They were forced to drink from the water they defecated in and where whipped regularly. . Can you do that much? Segregation was such a horrible thing that it simply trumps anything else that is wonderful those people did i.e. if they are racist. OF the vast number of blacks I know and have known over the years, I don't know of one who feels that way. There are certainly some younger blacks who do, those who hear it in pop culture. But most adult blacks in the South do not. No normal black adult feels the way you suggest. Those I went to school with are facebook friends just like my white friends. I'm going to run over to the racetrack for a little while, and I will sit amongst blacks and whites who are drinking beers and talking racehorses together, discussing underlays and overlays, and we don't know each other but no one is hostile or talking about what happened in the 50s. Hell, most of them were kids in the 50s just like I was.
