Are you kidding. We had to fight a war with the south to get them to end slavery and then another war of sorts to get them to end segregation.

Yeah. In 1861. Get over it. The end of segregation was done, yet there continues to be more segregation in the North today than in the South.

Once again, I REPEAT: The black people alive in the US have not experienced this as a result of living in the North or south, but as a result of government tinkering with society. The character of the places where these people live may influence some aspects of their living experience but not as you suggest: I would argue that blacks are at least as segregated in northern cities as anywhere.

I lived in a nice suburban neighborhood in the 1970s-80s-90s and for almost that entire time I had a fine black family on one side (he was a salesman for IBM, she was housewife, they had two boys who played with our kids, walked to and from school with our kids, spent the night at our house & vice versa, like any two white families would do).

On the other side was a black couple whom we didn't really know but I'm certain they were glad to see us move and thought, "Oh, shit" when they moved in and saw us next door. Again, like any two white neighbors might be.

NO ONE FUCKING CARES. That's ancient history. GET OVER IT. This is a total waste and I'm through with this subject.

You have never been here. You don't know anything about it. You need to stop criticizing until you have personal experience on which to draw. My view is that the so-called "War on Poverty" which has blown some $22 Trillion has created a race of slaves that is in many ways worse off than some of the slaves from the pre Civil War era in this country. People who are forced to depend on government checks, who see drug dependence as a preferable position in life than rugged individualism. And you have yourselves to blame for THAT.

My conscious is clear.
