Hello Mike:

How near the end in the gold price decline are we?? More specifically, if I decide to buy some calls on Gold miners, what expiration dates would you suggest? I am considering Aug 98, Jan 99 or Jan 00. Thanks.

Regards,
Jon

Hi Mike, I some how got the mistaken impression you were the same Mike Burke that headed up Chart Crafts. Sorry about that.

I look to Gold to tell me which way interest rates are headed. I have found it tends to lead the long bond yield by 3-6 months. If Gold bottoms out here in the coming weeks, it would tell me the bonds will be making a top near term. I also note that bonds and utilities are in over bought territory. This would be a good time to start taking profits in both sectors. Regards.
