bow season is longer and in some areas only bows are allowed. I let my well guy hunt on my property he gives me about 50-100 pounds of deer meat each year

you let the herds get too big and one major snow storm that hangs around for a week or two and you would see a massive die off

I believe pretty much ALL deer hunters eat venison.

As to why they use bows and muzzle loaders .... they get longer hunting seasons, for one thing.
