I take the view that he's not at all "shocking". Trump's desire to be the focus of the discussion instead of the actual topic being discussed is not good for the country in the long run.

I would say it's more dangerous than shocking. To have to constantly back off statements and rescind outbursts is not at all presidential, IMO.

There are plenty of people out there who want nothing more than to pick fights rather than discuss policy. I would have thought that his negative view of politicians would have caused him to be more cautious, instead of being goaded into skirmish after skirmish.
