Yes, experience does mitigate it.

If I have a brain surgeon, who is a great brain surgeon, but whose family contributed money to the hospital he works in, so he could work there- I will have a shot at living if he operates on me.

If, however, I get a brain surgeon who trained at Trump University's Online School of brain surgery using coloring books from the 1950's, I probably have no chance of living.

Hence, experience is a Good Thing. It is so odd to me that you would suggest it isn't.
