Concealed Carrier Kills Armed Robber In New Orleans Posted at 11:11 am on February 11, 2017 by Bob Owens

A man attempting to rob a T-Mobile store in New Orleans last night didn’t count on an armed customer drawing his concealed weapon and putting him down hard.

A customer foiled an apparent armed robbery at the T-Mobile store on St. Andrew Street, police said, shooting and killing the armed robber.

Right around the time police were investigating the shooting of six people in Central City, officers in the same NOPD district were called to a T-Mobile store in the 500 block of St. Andrew Street.

Chief Michael Harrison said a suspect was attempting to rob the store, when a customer shot and killed the man. Both weapons were retrieved, and the customer is being questioned by police, Harrison said.

Low Blow! Philly Store Own Shoots Armed Robber In the Groin

Posted at 11:44 am on February 10, 2017 by Bob Owens

Ouch!

A Philadelphia deli owner shot an armed man who was attempting to rob him, police say.

It happened around 8 p.m. Thursday at the 65th and Lebanon Avenue Deli in Overbrook.

Police say a gun-toting man walked into the deli and declared a holdup.

That’s when, police say, the owner pulled out his gun and shot the suspect in the groin.

Police say the owner is licensed to carry.

The attempted robbery suspect was taken to Lankenau Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating to determine whether the robber is responsible for a string of similar crimes in the area.

Concealed Carrier Saves Woman From Brutal Assault

Posted at 10:25 am on February 10, 2017 by Bob Owens

A concealed carrier walked into a convenience store in Holland, Michigan, only to witness a man brutally beating the female clerk. When the concealed carrier tried to intervene to help the woman, the attacker then turned his wrath on the Good Samaritan, who managed to push off the violent thug, drug his weapon, and end the assault.

A customer at a Holland convenience store shot and wounded another man he tried to stop from assaulting the store clerk, the store owner says.

The shooting happened about 10:25 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 at Columbia Avenue One Stop, 405 Columbia Ave.

Store owner Jansen Le said a female clerk was on duty when a man described as the clerk’s ex-boyfriend came inside and an altercation ensued.

The clerk, in a phone conversation with Le, told him the ex-boyfriend began beating her up. Soon after, another customer came into the store and witnessed the assault.

The customer tried to intervene, Le was told, and the other man then began to assault the customer. Le said the customer separated himself from the attacker and pulled out a gun.

Le said the customer warned the other person to stop.

“He didn’t listen,” Le said.

Holland Police early Friday said the 29-year-old attacker was shot twice by the 43-year-old customer. The customer had a legal handgun and also had a valid Concealed Pistol License, according to Holland Police. He cooperated with police in the follow-up investigation.

Chalk up yet another citizen saved by a “good guy with a gun” who was willing to put his own life in danger to stop the attack of a violent criminal.

Another three examples posted today of law abiding citizens using firearms to prevent or stop violent criminals. One of these criminals had his criminal career ended permanently, the other two will be put out of action for some time. All of society is safer as a result of these armed citizens actions. Incredibly, most Democrats sympathize with the criminals and resent the citizens who defended themselves and all of the rest of us.

Woman Killed Attempting Home Invasion In Knoxville Posted at 11:29 am on February 12, 2017 by Bob Owens

A Knoxville woman was found dead outside a home Friday after the male homeowner opened fired as she attempted to f orce her way into the home.

Police have identified a woman shot dead early Friday morning at a home in Northwest Knoxville.

Officers responding to the shooting call about 5:30 a.m. at 3305 McKamey Road found Stacie Mundy, 38, of Knoxville, lying on the ground near the back door of the home, police said. She’d been shot at least once and was taken by ambulance to University of Tennessee Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to a Knoxville Police Department news release.

Police said the preliminary investigation found Mundy was forcing her way into the home when the male homeowner shot her “in defense of his life.” At least one other resident of the home knew Mundy at the time of the shooting, police said.

The homeowner and several other people at the home were taken to the Safety Building and interviewed by investigators. After reviewing the facts of the investigation with the District Attorney General’s Office, KPD said police declared the shooting a justifiable homicide and declined to file charges, releasing all the individuals.

Munday had a record of three drug-related arrests in 2016.

The shooting has already been declared a justifiable homicide.

Concealed Carrier Stops Stabbing At Topeka Walmart

Posted at 7:40 am on February 13, 2017 by Bob Owens

Once again, it was a good guy with a concealed handgun that stepped in and saved a life, this time in the parking lot of a Topeka (KS) Walmart.

Topeka Police responded to reports of a stabbing at the Walmart on SE California in Topeka just after 4 p.m. Saturday.

TPD says two men were involved in an altercation, when a third party conceal carry holder intervened and stopped the assault.

“He intervened, drew his firearm, and held the people to the ground basically at gun-point,” said Topeka police Sergeant Joshua Klamm.

One of the men involved in the altercation was stabbed and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say the two men knew each other.

The suspect and the witness were taken to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning.

The suspect and the victim were both taken into custody for aggravated battery. The conceal and carry holder was released after questioning.

Third party self-defense incidents by concealed carriers seem to be popping up more frequently in my news feeds in recent months. I’m not sure if concealed carriers are actually intervening more often to save lives, or if it is simply a matter of local news stories covering these incidents more frequently.

Another day, another three stories about armed citizens defending themselves and others from violent criminals. How many future crimes were prevented by these armed citizens? A lot more than three, that's for sure. Two of the career criminals I just posted about will never victimize anyone else. Others will be hindered by the legal system or will learn a better way of life. It's a shame that many Democrats sympathize with the criminals and want THEM protected from armed citizens.
