Finnish and Hungarian, as you say way off the languages we know of. They have 30-40 casi vs ours like 4 max in German, 6 in Latin. Well known and you found out the hard way :) Some of their words have made it into Swedish like 'pojke' and 'koja'. I only know yxi, kaxi, kolme...
There is an interesting book written by a US linguist (!), by the title "How to learn any language", and he tells, that his most memorable experience was, when he had the challenging pleasure of being the translator between a Finn and a Hungarian :). Forgot the author, but you should read the book, very interesting.

BTW, very few Muslim and other non EU immigrants living in Finland. They keep them out :)
