The people who don't understand how our Republic works are the delusional 52% of Trump supporters who actually believe Trump can set aside any court order he disagrees with. That would be a dictatorship, not a republic or a democracy.

As Senator Al Franken points out, Trump voters are only 28% of the population, so only 15% of Americans don't understand how our nation is structured under the US Constitution - which is pretty good.

I'd expect that the least smart 15% of the population of any country is liable to believe all sorts of nonsense.
