The wahabbi and salafists are only a part of the various extremist Islamic branches that are a current threat to western civilization. From my little knowledge wahabbi originated and practiced in Saudi Arabia, and salafists I think are many other countries in the ME including Egypt. There are also extremist movements with desire to destroy the western civilization from the Philippines to Afghanistan all over the ME and North Africa all the way to Nigeria with branches in S. America etc., The correct definition is more confrontation of civilizations, with basically different and contradicting world order and human rights. Best read Sayyid Qutb writings (the "Milestones" book) a person that lived and studied in the US and returned to Egypt with very harsh criticism of US way of life and this is appalling. I think he established the Muslim Brotherhood
