The information shared if any only served only served to injure
the recipients. Consequently the repitition of any alleged information
has had an affect on the innocent. This doesn't bode well.

Michael,

Bingo!!! You win the prize... :0) <vbg>

From my own personal experience I have discovered that the SEC believes the only proper manner in which information is to be released from a company to the public is through a Dow-Jones... etc.

We all know that CEO's like to talk about their companies and the potential that they see for their businesses. In fact, I rather like speaking with the managment of companies that I own so that I can then compare their actual words to their actions.

Furthermore, I have, in the past, strongly encouraged people to get to know management, visit the company's operations, and talk to their possible competition.

The problem, however, is when a CEO's words or comments find there way out here on SI as a posting from a person(shareholder), who is not of the press, an analyst, or a broker who is relaying information from his brokerage's analyst or strategist.

The SEC does not like ordinary folks getting first dibs on information and naturally assumes that if it is important enough to tell shareholders something over the phone, then it is important to file a news release or other report. And I think they are right.

But that is just a lesson that I have learned the hard way. If you have to speak with management, no one can stop you. But keep it to yourself, don't trade on it, and just tuck it away as nice to know information.

Regards,

Ron
