I took that to mean he was sarcastically requesting Russia's help to find those subpoenaed but missing emails that our FBI said couldn't be found. Of course, recovery of missing data that is being sought is not a hack.

And the NYT knows that Assange has said it wasn't Russia but a DNC insider, probably the staffer who was murdered on a street in DC.

And the election wasn't hacked, the DNC was hacked and exposed that Donna Brazille had given the debate questions to Killary.

As I recall, that 30,000 emails disappeared because HILLARY made them disappear, rather than hand them over.

That was why Donald made the joke about maybe Russia had them.
