Here is another article on Compq vs. HP:

biz.yahoo.com

Compaq's response is expected to come Tuesday, with sweeping changes to its Presario line of consumer PCs. Compaq spokesman Mike Berman declined to comment on specifics but confirmed the changes would include enhancements to the company's current $799 system.

''We expect we're going to provide a better value than H-P or anybody else at that price point,'' Berman said.
''We're going to be focusing on value at every price point.''

Bob,

I hope someone will have a review of the 220 MHz MediaGXm Presario. I would like to see how much the SDRAM and 24 MB RAM helped.
