On the compensation scheme: The way we are organized to produce wealth, goods and service is wrong. We were organized to produce to eat until 19th century. Industrial Revolution brought new ways to organize ourselves to produce goods. We are using the same methodology used to produce goods for 150 years, to produce services. The nation-state is a dangerous anachronism. It attracts the worse types who are in the payroll of major interest groups who can stomach go around shaking hands and talking and listening to boring people. Does anybody think that a US president is a spontaneous guy who say I am going to run for president? Not at all. It is a guy who asks around if the moneyed men and women would pay him to run and win and he shows how he can beat the opposition. If he has a credible case money will flow into his coffers. Once he gets the seat, he will do what the people who paid him wants him to do TJ is saying that China system where a caste descendants of the guys who built China post dynasty fall early last century is the right system. I still prefer the ones financed by the moneyed men and women as we can throw anything at them. Which brings us to food: The system still produces food for the population and famine is more lack of money than lack of food. Example: The Maghreb countries imported food and could pay for it. And the populations being Muslims were producing lots of children. Once China and India entered the world market, they bid the price of food up. As a result, instead of spending 50% of their income to eat, they started spending 70%. They revolted. It fell domino-like till reaching Syria that is a client state of Iran and Russia. The Muslims have to reform their religion and need a Martin Luther. Else they will be the fuse of the powder barrel. Their females population must be educated and freed from the paternalist societies so they produce less offspring just like their westerners counterparts. This unbalance where we have an advanced society on one side and another living like 500 years ago cannot continue. as it only generates pain and death. IT is not for me and you to tell that. It is for the guys who meet at places such as Davos to tell that. They are the leadership of the planet. The Finns started an experiment of de-compartimentalization of knowledge.
