Scott Mc / Flow Through Shares

Flow through shares are generally not a special class of shares. They are simply common shares which at the time of issuance have the special flow through attribute written into the issuance/purchase agreement. After the renunciation of expenses and perhaps a stipulated minimum holding period, they become free trading and trade under the same symbol as other shares of the issuing corporation (but with no right to any further renunciation of tax deductible expenses).

So you cannot buy these shares in the open market (stock exchange), but rather have to subscribe for them upon isssuance by the corporation.
