Circumcision was pretty common up to the first 60 years of the Twentieth century. Probably because
some folks didn't have ready access to regular bathing and the sanitary issue was front and center.
I don't really know any younger people now who practice it with their children,except for observant
Jewish, of course...

That was why my husband was cut- and to make him "look like his father".

My husband's mother was a nurse, so she did think about it, before they did it.
