"When that happens, the person experiences a golden shower of light"

Warning; be sure Putin isn't filming it.

I took LSD three times in my mid-20s. Each time it was definitely a peak experience and I felt like I was able to see things at a much higher level than normal. Like all of a sudden I had added 50 IQ points to my brain.

I never had any hallucinations at all, but I also knew that I couldn't go snorkeling in a California kelp bed. That would have freaked me out-lol.

The first time I took it, I actually drove over to a bookstore where they had intellectual discussions all the time and spent the day just engaged in conversation with people that liked to talk about ideas.

But I never saw God. And I don't expect to see God. I debated God, like most young people do until I was about 24 and then I pretty much stopped. For the next 50 years I seldom discussed it. I stopped because I finally saw in my own mind a reason that it was a silly idea.

And here is the thesis, any religious entity of the intellectual superiority of a God would well know that no human could even begin to understand the important things that a God would want to teach them.

Many people still can't even understand evolution or democracy. And they sure as heck couldn't understand it 2000 years ago. A God would know that you can't teach somebody something before they are able to understand it.

All those teachings of Jesus fell on deaf ears I can promise you. The way you can see that is for the next 1500 years religion made life hell for people by repressing science and free thought.

And what this had to do with, is the concept they have today called knowledge directed perception i.e. you cannot see what you do not understand. What I mean by that is if a person is not able to comprehend God because they are not intellectually prepared, then it makes the whole exercise useless.

For example, take someone who lives deep in the jungle somewhere and has had no contact with modern people or ideas. They are living very much like a human animal. And they pray to things like spirits and all sorts of other stuff they make up.

A God would easily understand that that person would have no way of understanding what they were about. And the god certainly would not be involved in directing their life. At that point I realized that the whole concept of God was silly.

The juxtaposition of intellect between a god and human made the idea of a god impossible!

Think about the church teaching the Christian God is a jealous God. That is preposterous. Tribal chiefs get jealous, not gods. Would God be jealous of some poor uneducated Honduran woman who is praying to a mixture of Christianity and native religious beliefs? Of course not. In fact the God would never be jealous of any human because they would know that the humans are limited in their knowledge and couldn't possibly conceive of the reality a superior sentient being lived in, and so there's nothing to be jealous about or even expect.

The entire idea of Gods is simply primitive belief systems held over from days when we didn't know much. And I am totally amazed that it is taking so long for highly educated people to see that religion is nothing but simple myths left over from days past. It is a childish idea to be put away so that we can concentrate on the real issues of the day by living in the world of reality.
