It would be best if he bowed out so we can remember him better.
Probably past that now. He didn't have any friends on the other side and now he's alienating everyone who once supported him.

stick around longer that what is good for themselves.
And everyone else.

Agree that the article was slanted. And he was tortured. It took guts. Interesting that not one of his co-prisoners has ever come forward and defended him, or said a good word about him.

Nixon pardoned him. But I don't know what for.

I knew someone that was with him in the "hotel", and did not like him. From what he said no one had a good thing to say about McCain.

Years later the former POW's y had reunions and most of the them did not even talk to him.......bad vibes. So, there must have been something there.

John

"As of today. McCain has outlived his usefulness. It would be best if he bowed out so we can remember him better. People in his position then to stick around longer that what is good for themselves."

I'd say that's the relevant aspect with regard to McCain.

Either he bows out gracefully or his constituents decide it for him when it next comes to voting time.
