It makes people think, "wait a minute, is he crazy like a fox?"

I can't rule that out any more than I can rule out the existence of God. But I think the probability is in the low single digits.

The man has skills. I expect that he is every bit as good a negotiator as he thinks he is, if you define good as overwhelming the opposition. He is probably good at reading his adversaries. He has some situational street smarts. He has showmanship skills, at least for certain audiences. He has drive and energy. And seems to be relentless. I think he has confidence in his skill set.

He seems to be able to set the media's anti-Trump message almost every morning before breakfast. That doesn't look intentional to you?

Like I said, he's good at reading his adversaries and adapting within the range of his skill set. I imagine that he takes great pleasure in antagonizing his opponents. He gets energy from that just as he gets energy from his campaign rallies. He probably exits from each feeling like he's on top of the world. He likely has come come to recognize that his antics distract from his shortcomings. He may have intentionally turned said antics into a displacement weapon or he may just be grooving, doing his thing, and soaking up the energy, or both.

I have seen no indication that he has the traits that would enable someone to devise and execute a master plan that includes deliberate buffoonery. I have seen no indication that his buffoonery is an act. He's counter-punching. More likely it's a shortcoming that he has been able to make work for him via his showmanship.

Making the most of his skill set is not the same thing as having command of the presidential role. He is hapless in the role. His skill set is not up to that. But one has to be impressed with his ability to elevate haplessness into stardom. In NY they call that chutzpah.

On time in my life, I woke up, my eyes were open, I was aware of my surroundings, but my dream kept going. It didn't alarm me. It was more like, Hmmmm, I'm awake AND I'm dreaming. Isn't that interesting. Then something clicked and the dream went back below the consciousness barrier.

I wonder if that is schizophrenia. They just can't stop dreaming.
