AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Mactell Corporation (Nasdaq: MTLL)
today announced the addition of three new video graphic acceleration cards,
Mactell Vision 3D, Vision 3D PRO, and Vision3D PRO II, to its MacOS(TM)
compatible product line. The new video graphic accelerator cards maximize
video graphic capabilities for 3D/ 2D, and video desktop applications,
yielding unparalleled graphic precision to MacOS(TM) compatible systems.
"Those of us who develop or manufacture computer products are, by
profession, keenly interested in and fascinated with the 'better,' 'best,' and
faster technologies available now and just on the horizon," said Pat Berry,
vice president of marketing at Mactell. "Mactell is proud to integrate this
graphics processor technology into our product line. Our customers can be
confident that we'll be an aggressive partner in providing them with enhanced
capabilities and solutions by offering the new products such as the Mactell
Vision 3D Series cards.
"The Mactell Vision 3D graphic acceleration cards may be the highest
performing in their categories, offering video graphic performance and speed
previously available only on costly high-end workstations. The significant
boost in performance is immediately visible to the user. In leading
benchmarks, the Mactell Vision 3D cards achieve high performance scores in
demanding high and low-resolution publishing graphics tests and standard
business graphics tests," Berry continued.
The affordable entry-level Mactell Vision 3D, with 2 Mb and 4 Mb options,
utilizes the S3 Virge chipset. The card features QuickTime, 3D acceleration,
and MPEG accelerated play-back.
"The mid-range Mactell Vision 3D PRO cards yield the 3D graphics
performance, color, crispness, and clarity customers demand, multiplying speed
capabilities, and more than doubling or tripling existing on-board
acceleration," noted Berry. Utilizing the Number Nine Imagine II(TM)
accelerator chip, our Vision 3-D PRO is available in 4 Mb and 8 Mb versions,
with resolution up to and including 1920 x 1080/72Hz.
The Mactell 3D PRO II is the first Mac graphics card utilizing the Number
Nine Visual Technology's Ticket to Ride(TM) chip, the Imagine III(TM)
processor, with 8 Mb VRAM. The Imagine III chip set offers the fastest
available screen MPEG video acceleration. The card features QuickTime,
QuickDraw, and MPEG video play-back with a high refresh rate up to 150Hz.
