The nice thing about no thought police (yet) is they don't know why you are standing. I can always find something to stand for -- National Parks, those who served in somebody else's war and were maimed or lost his or her life, many who fought in WWII and help put an end to what we are seeing reborn today, children who hopefully will have a cleaner and safer world to enjoy when they are older, Ben Franklin (one of my favorite historical figures). It might be a mandatory or habitual thing to the team, arena, city and nation, but I can personalize it any way I want. And sometimes I just stand so my knees feel better.
