Isles report: Brooklyn won the first game of a 9 game road trip in Detroit on Tuesday. The Islander's Renaissance during the second half of the season has been directly related to the improved performances of Chimera and Ladd. These two guys literally did nothing over the first 30 games of the season. I suppose it took them a while to get adjusted, but they have really picked up their performances.
Isles have the worst road record in the league. They have played a lot of clunkers on the road, most recently a 7-1 thrashing by the Leafs and a 3-0 loss to Ottawa. And it has been 3 or 4 years since they have won in Montreal. They played a good road game in Detroit on Tuesday. But they have lost on the road in Colorado and Arizona. To beat Montreal, they will have to play their best game, tight checking.
North Pole analogy was only meant to state how brutally cold it gets in Montreal. When I spent the summer in Montreal, I only saw one day above 90. Every other day was in the 70s, late Spring weather in NYC. And winters are very long in Montreal, often a good 20-25 degrees colder than NYC. But I am sure I don't need to tell you about Montreal winters.

Oh, I hope Brooklyn wins, but I am not counting on it. Actually, I am resigned to losing Thursday night.
