Yes Life appears to have a very cruel random side that is what I am saying..

Interestingly reformed Judaism is a lot closer to what I believe than my Catholic faith where i would certainly be a heretic even today..

I guess the term religion sticks in my craw a bit ... when you say for example that you are deeply religious ... is there some fixed set of rules you will follow right or wrong ? Myself I would say I am deeply spiritual ... actually I am.. certainly not and atheist by any rational measure (of course there are many irrational measures.. and those like to use the term apostate :))
