. . .PP SyQuest SparQ --over 1MB/sec.

PP Ls-120 Superdisc --305k/sec

PP Zip Plus --192k/sec

Truly pathetic performance from Iomega. People will come to their senses soon
enough and realize that Iomega is way behind the technology curve.

Are you retarded???????????????????????

Well Rock, the only thing this proves is the parallel port sucks. I HATE parallel port storage devices but use them when I must. Zips are best used as an internal drive in which case they are much faster than 120 but slower than SparQ. SparQ is still too expensive for what I use a Zip drive for. Internal Zips are cheap and fast. Last 4 computers I've bought Dell, Compaq and Micron have all been screaming fast and the Zips are great.

(Oh and that Zip PLus drive will run off the SCSI port on your Mac and my laptop with SCSI PCMIA. I can't believe that arrogant SyQuest has the audacity to ignore loyal Mac customers like you and not put both a PP and SCSI connection on SparQ like that comsumer oriented Iomega has)

Parallel Port? Is that the best you can do Rock? How pitiful. Try this chart on for size. It's from the same folks.

Or their review of Zip Plus at

Pay close attention to this part:

Meanwhile, the Zip drive--with its portability, 100MB capacity, and easily recognized blue case--keeps selling so well, it seems certain to establish itself as the floppy drive's de facto successor.

Yep, poor Iomega just doesn't get it. They create new standards, and increase sales and earnings, when all that really counts is speeds and feeds, right Rocky?
